K.Dot’s Superbowl Half Time Show Round Up

Share

February is off to a controversial start and we are here for it!
Last night (February 9) American rapper, Kendrick Lamar headlined the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, delivering a powerful and socially conscious performance. One that many Americans will never forget.
The highly anticipated show was plagued with symbolism, social commentary and shade!
K Dot’s performance opened with actor, Samuel L. Jackson as “Uncle Sam”, another symbolic figure in American history and featured a stage designed like a giant PlayStation controller.
With performers clad in red, white and blue resembling characters/pawns from the infamous Squid Game movie, K Dot was insistent on starting the “revolution”.
Lamar’s 15-minute set included hits like “Humble,” “DNA,” “Euphoria,” and “Not Like Us,” with guest appearances from SZA and producer Mustard.
Social media was set ablaze when the New Orleans rapper notably altered a controversial lyric from “Not Like Us” amid his ongoing feud with Drake.
Another moment that sent fingers ‘tweeting’ was when Serena Williams made a surprise appearance and joined him on stage. Williams, who dated Drake for a while, C-walked, a move she said she would have been punished for in Wimbledon. The most hilarious part though was the fact that this was done inside an “X”.
The performance was a mix of music, culture, and social commentary, solidifying Lamar’s influence as a transformative artist.
