The cash-strapped Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) recorded a slight uptick in fare income, rising from $1.2 billion in 2023 to $1.3 billion last year, according to the 2024 Economic and Social Survey Jamaica (ESSJ).
The state-run bus company also saw passenger trips increase from 13.9 million in 2023 to 17.3 million last year.
Additionally, revenue from charter services climbed to $100.9 million, up from $87.3 million the previous year.
