JUSSIE SMOLLETT TO BE GIVEN COMPREHENSIVE MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEATH ASSESSMENT

Following his courtroom outburst during his sentencing after learn-ing his fate, Jussie Smollett will be given a medical and mental health assessment.

A rep for the Cook County Sheriff’s office said that Jussie will be given a comprehen-sive medical and mental health assessment by Health services, a security assessment, and will be placed in appropriate housing. It is also said that he will be tested for Covid-19 and offered vaccination if not yet vaccinated.

After his sentencing, while being led out of the courtroom, Jussie began shouting

“I am innocent. I could have said I was guilty a long time ago, I am not suicidal, and if anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself, and you must all know that”.

Smollett was convicted and sentenced to 150 days in jail for lying to the police about staging a hate crime attack on himself. In addition, his sentencing will include 30 months felony probation, $120,106 in restitution to the city of Chicago and he will pay a fine of $25,000.
