Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson has expressed his outrage at Jussie Smollett for allegedly betraying the African American and LGBT communities to further his career in a “publicity stunt.”

The Superintendent said Smollett created the ruse because “he was dissatisfied with his salary” on “Empire.”

If you recall, the actor is charged with filing a false police report after he said he was the victim of a homophobic and racist attack.

Take a brief listen to what Superintendent Eddie Johnson had to say in a press conference earlier.

The Superintendent also said the wounds on Smollett were most likely “self-inflicted.”

He also spoke about the harm caused by filing a false report.
