16- year- old student of Wolmer’s Boys, Joel Ricketts, will create history in Colombia at the Junior Pan American Games later this year as the first Jamaican to compete in skateboarding in international competition.
However, this will be only his first step to representing Jamaica at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Ricketts is currently in California for a training camp courtesy of the Jamaica Olympic Association and Skateboarding Jamaica Ltd to help lay the foundation for a successful campaign towards Paris in 2024.
