Jamaica Labour Party JLP Leader, Dr. Andrew Holness, has described the outcome of yesterday’s (Wed) election, as a chance for national renewal.
While thanking Jamaicans for their support at the polls, Dr. Holness emphasized that the victory is only the beginning, noting that significant work still lies ahead.
The JLP secured 34 parliamentary seats, surpassing the People’s National Party PNP, which won 29.
According to Dr. Holness, this third consecutive term in government, means putting in the work, to meet the needs of constituents.
He observed that a government judged by merit appears to pose a threat to democracy.
