While qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup remains the Jamaica Football Federation’s (JFF) top priority, President Michael Ricketts says he is also eyeing a Concacaf Gold Cup title as a way to further elevate local football.

Ricketts believes a strong showing and ultimately lifting the trophy would be a significant morale booster and help generate greater support and investment in the national programme.

The Reggae Boyz are currently regrouping following their 1-0 loss to Guatemala on Monday night at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles.

They are scheduled to travel to San Diego for their second Group B fixture against Guadeloupe on Friday. Jamaica will close out the group stage next Tuesday against Panama, with only the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarter-finals.
