Record producer and songwriter Jermaine Dupri has filed a lawsuit against Sony Music Entertainment, alleging the company withheld millions of dollars in royalties dating back to the early 1990s.
He claims an audit conducted last year uncovered unpaid royalties on music by acts including Kris Kross, Xscape, Da Brat, Jagged Edge, Mariah Carey and Usher.
Dupri is seeking at least $18 million in damages, accusing Sony of concealing royalty payments and breaching multiple contracts.
Sony has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
