The Jamaica Defence Force JDF says it has launched an internal investigation into allegations of abuse in the Savanna-La-Mar Zone of Special Operation ZOSO.
The JDF in a statement this morning (Fri), said its aware of the allegations of an incident last weekend, involving soldiers operating in the ZOSO in Westmoreland.
The army says it takes reports of this nature seriously.
The JDF says it ensures that all service members are trained to respect the rights of all citizens and operate within the rule of law.
The army states that its committed to ensuring that strong corrective measures are applied in any case, where soldiers are found perpetrate, facilitate, allow or fail to report acts of abuse.
