The Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, has sought to assure that recruits who refuse to take the COVID-19 vaccine, will not be barred from joining the Force in the future.

In a letter sent to recruits dated Thursday, May 27, the Police High Command stated that as physical face-to-face training begins at the National Police College, the JCF is only able to train candidates who have been vaccinated.

Head of the Constabulary’s Corporate Communications Unit, Senior Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay, explains that the Force is short of some 2000 officers, and it is important that training continues smoothly, without any interruption due to COVID-19.

She says, however, refusal of the vaccine does not affect future recruitment.
