Jay-Z’s Accuser Can Remain Anonymous, Judge Criticizes His Lawyer’s ‘Relentless’ Filings

A New York judge ruled Thursday that the woman accusing Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy” Combs of sexually assaulting her at age 13 can proceed anonymously, at least for now, in her lawsuit.

Judge Analisa Torres criticized Jay-Z’s legal team for filing excessive motions with inflammatory language and personal attacks against the accuser’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee, calling the behavior “inappropriate” and a waste of judicial resources.

The accuser, referred to as Jane Doe, initially filed her lawsuit against Combs in October and later included Jay-Z in December.

While she remains anonymous at this stage, the court may later require her to disclose her identity.

Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, has requested the dismissal of his client from the lawsuit, citing a report from NBC News that highlighted inconsistencies in the accuser's claims.
