JaRIA to honour Veteran deejay Lady G

Veteran Female entertainer Lady G will next month, be honoured with the Icon Award by the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA) for her longstanding contribution in the music industry.

Lady G rose to prominence in the late 1980s.

Although she recorded several singles, it wasn’t until she voiced “Nuff Respect” released in 1988 , that she set tongues wagging.

She followed up with “Legal Rights” and “Round Table Talk” with Papa San. The Zee caught up with Lady G, who says the award is “encouraging”.

Meanwhile, just recently Lady G released her latest body of work. It’s an EP entitled ‘Smile’.
