Pep Guardiola has confirmed that James Trafford will start in goal for Carabao Cup final against Arsenal, while Mikel Arteta declined to reveal his starting goalkeeper.
Trafford, 23, returned to City from Burnley last summer for £27m and has been playing in domestic cups under Guardiola’s rotation policy.
Despite being edged out by Gianluigi Donnarumma for the league starting spot, Guardiola praised Trafford’s attitude and professionalism.
Arsenal has alternated keepers in competitions, with Kepa Arri-za-bal-aga featuring in domestic cups and David Raya in the Premier League and Champions League.
