Social media users are calling on Prime Minister Andrew Holness for a holiday in honour of recent achievements.

Writing on Twitter, Miss Jamaica World Franchise Director Dahlia Harris pointed to Jamaican Toni Ann Singh being crowned Miss World 2019 and the reggae girls qualification to the world cup earlier this year.

It’s not yet known if a holiday is being considered.

Following Saturday’s victory, Prime Andrew Holness said Toni Ann’s triumph displayed the best of Jamaica, extraordinary talent, grace, beauty, humility, confidence, and passion, hailing her a true beauty with a purpose.

Meanwhile, Harris noted that “for 2 years they’ve spent so much time trying to convince organisations that Miss Jamaica World is not only relevant, it has a real purpose in lifting the spirit of our nation and empowering our women. She said that after yesterday’s win, she hopes to never have that conversation again”.

Toni-Ann Singh was among a large group of 114 contestants vying for the crown.
