History will be created for Jamaica at the Beijing 2022 winter Olympics.

This as Benjamin Alexander is set to become the first Alpine skier to represent the country at the games.

The 38 year old Benjamin qualified for the Olympic giant slalom (an alpine skiing and alpine snowboarding discipline) under the B criteria established by the International Olympic Committee.

The British born Alexander whose father is Jamaican turned in his qualifying performance at the inaugural Cape Verde National Ski Championships, which were held in Liechtenstein recently.

The former model and DJ only started skiing five years ago.

Benjamin said he did not set out at first to be an Olympic skier, but things just started to unfold.

President of the Jamaica Olympic Association Christopher Samuda hailed the efforts of Benjamin.

The 2022 Winter Olympics officially open on February 4th, 2022.
