Jamaican-born actor Micheal Ward, known for his roles in Top Boy, Blue Story, and Lovers Rock, has been formally charged with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault.

The charges stem from an alleged incident involving one woman in January 2023.

Ward, 27, who resides in Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, is scheduled to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court in London on August 28. In response to the allegations, he released a statement firmly denying all charges.

Born in Spanish Town, Jamaica, Ward lost his father at the age of two and relocated to the UK with his mother and sister at age four.

Ward began his screen career with a role in the TV series Brotherhood before gaining widespread recognition for his performance as Jamie in Top Boy (2013–2022).
