JAMAICA RECORDS HIGHEST COVID 19 POSITIVITY RATE

Jamaica yesterday recorded it’s highest positivity rate of 54 percent .

The Health Ministry is reporting that 739 new Covid cases were recorded yesterday down from the record 929 on Saturday.

The new cases push the overall case count to 67,402.

Of the new cases 422 are females and 317 are males.

Their ages range from 24 days to 94 years.

St. Ann had the highest number of cases with 149, followed by Kingston and St. Andrew with 143.

St Mary had 88 with St. Catherine recording 82 cases.

All parishes recorded new cases.

Meanwhile, the Ministry is reporting six more deaths.

The death tally is now 1,510.

2 deaths are under investigation.

Three of the deaths were from St. James, 2 were from Hanover and one from Westmoreland.

And hospitalizations remain at 723 patients with 62 critically ill, 88 who severely ill and 192 who are moderately ill.

91 persons have recovered from Covid-19 pushing overall recoveries to 48,186.

There are 17,288 active cases.
