In a bid to support communities affected by Hurricane Melissa, the Government has launched the “I Love Jamaica” fundraising concert series, aiming to raise US$1 million for relief efforts.

The highlight is a live telethon and virtual concert on November 16, from 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., streamed from CPTC studios. Chris Martin, Masicka, and other artists will perform, with more names to be announced. Similar concerts are being organized internationally.

Prominent figures, including Chris Gayle in partnership with the CPL, are helping drive donations.

Meanwhile, the concert series, aimed at raising funds for hurricane recovery, has sparked online debate.

While the initiative has been praised for bringing hope, some especially on social media, have questioned its timing, following the hurricane that claimed 32 lives.
