Defending champions Jamaica despite missing a number of key athletes, surpassed last year’s total to once again top the standings at the Carifta Track and Field Championships.

The 2019 staging that ended yesterday (Mon), was held at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in the Cayman Islands.

The Jamaicans by topping the table, claimed the title for a 36th consecutive year.

National age group record holder Ackera Nugent was one of nine Jamaicans to win an individual gold medal on the final day, after running 13.24 seconds to win the girls under 20 100m hurdles.
