Lawyers of international reggae star Jah Cure have filed an appeal to have his attempted manslaughter charges overturned.
Jah Cure was sentenced to six years in prison in the Netherlands for attempted manslaughter back in March 2022.
In a released statement, press officer of the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service, Tuscha Essed, said, “There is no date yet scheduled for the hearing as the appeal case is still in a rather preliminary phase. However, both prosecution and defense have appealed the lower court’s verdict.”
An appeal is made by submitting an application to the court of appeal.
In the notice of appeal, a request is made of the court of appeal to reverse (to a degree) the judgment of the court by which that judgment was delivered.
