Israel’s ambassador to Portugal called for Kanye West’s Algarve concert to be canceled, citing the rapper’s history of antisemitic and pro-Nazi statements.
Ambassador Oren Rozenblat urged the public to boycott the August 7 show, calling it a disgrace for Portugal.
Concert organizer Torcato Jorge rejected the demand, saying security services found no national security threat or reason to stop the event.
The controversy comes after several European countries canceled or blocked West’s shows, while his 2026 tour continues across multiple countries.
