As the one-year mark nears for the tragic Cherry Tree Lane massacre, the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is renewing its pledge to deliver justice to the victims and their loved ones.
The Area Three Major Investigation Division remains actively engaged in solving the horrific shooting that took place on Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Clarendon, an attack that left eight people dead and several others injured.
According to police reports, the violence unfolded around 8:45 p.m. when gunmen, traveling in a Toyota motorcar, arrived at a birthday celebration in the community and opened fire on those gathered.
Responding officers arrived to find multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to hospital, where eight, among them a 7-year-old child, were pronounced dead. Several others received treatment for their injuries.
Since that night, investigators have been working relentlessly to identify and apprehend those behind the attack. The JCF has emphasized that the pursuit of justice remains a top priority as the anniversary of the tragedy approaches.
