The Integrity Commission has recommended criminal charges against Government Minister Dr Andrew Wheatley, including illicit enrichment and making false statements in statutory declarations.
A report tabled in Parliament alleges he accumulated assets worth about $164 million that were disproportionate to his lawful earnings between 2013 and 2022.
Investigators also cited failures to disclose loans, properties, and business interests, as well as a lack of cooperation with information requests.
The findings have been referred for prosecution, while related tax compliance concerns have been sent to the Tax Administration for further review.
