Jamaica is being recognized as an example for other nations striving to escape the low to middle-income trap.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has acknowledged Jamaica's effective implementation of reforms that promote growth.

During a press briefing on the global policy agenda on Thursday, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva referenced Jamaica while answering reporters' questions.

In response to inquiries about tackling low to medium-term growth in Latin America, Georgieva highlighted that Jamaica is performing better than some countries in the region due to the positive outcomes of its reforms.
