An illegal cash-pot seller who operated in Waterhouse, Kingston, has been fined $375,000 and given seven days to pay the fine or be imprisoned.

The Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Commission, BGLC says the fine is an important development in efforts to stamp out illegal gambling operations.

The BGLC says a report to Crime Stop resulting in the Commission’s enforcement team, undertaking investigations to monitor activities in the White Lane area of Waterhouse.

A joint operation by the Counter-terrorism and Organised Crime Unit, C-TOC, led to an arrest and charge. This is the largest fine applied in recent years.
