Managing Director of IGL Peter Graham is urging Jamaicans to focus more on preventing themselves from contracting the coronavirus, so as to reduce the burden on health facilities and the need for oxygen.
The appeal comes even as IGL has already sourced, and continues to source, more medical oxygen supplies, in response to the increased demand.
In recent weeks, hospitals have been overwhelmed with the spike in covid cases, and the facilities struggled with treating critically ill patients, amid a shortage of oxygen, due in part to disruptions in the supply chain.
Mr. Graham assured that with the shipment of oxygen that arrived on Thursday, and another batch due today, hospitals will have adequate oxygen.
