If some grown-ups hated Baby Shark as a song, how will they handle Baby Shark as an animated TV series?

When the song went viral in September, some grown-ups considered the song to be annoying and even posted on twitter how they felt. These were some of the comments:

“I’d like to think when I die, my last thoughts will be of my family, but it’ll probably be that Baby Shark song”

“Interviewer: What’s the best and worst parts about being a parent?

Best: Receiving unconditional love from a person you created

Worst: Baby shark do do do do do…”

“You actually win parenting if you don’t lose your mind whilst listening to the Baby Shark song on repeat.”

There was also a Baby Shark dance challenge on social media where a lot of kids participated in.

So if these grown-ups were annoyed then, how will they handle a Baby Shark animated TV series?

Television network Nickelodeon plans to team up with Pinkfong to develop the show, which is set to further explore Baby Shark’s world.

Pinkfong is the children’s educational brand of SmartStudy, a South Korean educational entertainment company. Pinkfong consists of mainly children’s songs, of which the most famous is of course, “Baby Shark”, with nearly three billion views on YouTube.

Ramsey Naito, Executive VP at Nickelodeon Animation said, “Baby Shark has captured the imagination of millions of fans around the world, so it’s no surprise it’s one of the top 10 most-viewed videos on YouTube ever. At the heart of any popular piece of content is a terrific character, and we have a great opportunity to further explore the world of Baby Shark and follow this family through some great animated adventures on Nickelodeon.”
