Idris Elba is stepping back into music with a new release, linking up with veteran dancehall artiste Beenie Man and UK producers Turno and Tiggs Da Author for the track Rise Again.
Released through NQ Records, the single pairs high-energy UK jungle with a dancehall/reggae sound.
The Jamaica/London link-up on Rise Up is not the first time the British-Jamaican actor and rapper has leaned into his roots for a hit. 2020's Boasty, featuring a star-studded combination of rappers Wiley, Stefflon Don, and Idris Elba alongside dancehall's Sean Paul, was wildly popular, eventually gaining a remix featuring queen of the dancehall, Spice.
