Bad Bunny has been announced as the headliner for the 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show, but the news has already sparked political controversy. Corey Lewandowski, a senior adviser to the Department of Homeland Security and longtime Trump campaign manager, stated that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE agents will be present at Levi’s Stadium in California during the event on February 8, 2026.
Lewandowski stressed that the administration intends to enforce immigration laws strictly, warning that persons in the country illegally could face detention and deportation even at the Super Bowl. He contrasted this stance with previous administrations, framing it as a more aggressive approach to immigration enforcement.
The timing of his remarks is significant, coming just days after the NFL confirmed Bad Bunny as the performer.
The Puerto Rican superstar previously avoided touring in the United States, citing concerns that immigration officials might target his fans.
