Recording artiste Byiome Muir, better known as I-Octane, took to social media yesterday to clear his name.
The entertainer’s name was mentioned in witness testimony during the ongoing Klansman Gang trial.
It is being reported that on Tuesday, an ex-member turned state informant told the court that he and other members of the St Catherine-based gang would frequently visit a recording studio, also frequented by the artiste.
According to local reports, the witness said the gangsters, including alleged gang leader Andre “Blackman” Bryan, would make multiple visits to the aforementioned studio.
Following the bombshell testimony, the “Lose a Friend” artiste made a lengthy post on Instagram, distancing himself from the gang. “Do your research… People in the music can tell you I have my own recording studio so when anybody wants to do any form of recording dem meet me at the studio,” he said in the post. The post continued,” Note, I don’t know nothing about dem badness but dem ask for help – just to record a song on a riddim so they can get into producing and me nah go tell no lies, me record fi dem over and over because I want to show dem say life nuh stop a badness……….”
In the ending, he said, “Jones Avenue records is big recording label and multiple artists have done recording for them so how I-OCTANE IS A CRIMINAL FI DO THE SAME THING…

I-Octane isn’t the only artiste to be mentioned during Tuesday’s testimony. The witness also mentioned incarcerated dancehall entertainer, Vybz Kartel. The court was stunned when the witness testified that Kartel had allegedly ordered members of the gang to kill another artiste and two other persons.
