I Love Jamaica Concerts Raise 65M towards Hurricane Melisa Relief

Share

Sunday’s I Love Jamaica hurricane relief concert has already raised more than $65 million for recovery efforts after Hurricane Melissa as confirmed by the government.
Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange says just over $45.7 million has already been deposited into the Support Jamaica fund, with the other 20 million dollars in pledges expected soon. Grange thanked the artistes, athletes, and broadcasters who donated their time, talent, and even their own resources, calling them “committed, generous, and patriotic” in moments of crisis.
The six-hour telethon aired live on November 23 and featured a stacked lineup — from Tarrus Riley, Ding Dong, Alaine, Tanya Stephens, and Tommy Lee to headliners Tessanne Chin, Christopher Martin, and Kevin Downswell. Jamaicans tuned in across TV and Facebook, helping turn the show into one of the biggest relief efforts since the storm.
