The loss from this morning’s fire at the Hydel High Group of Schools in St. Catherine is estimated to be 50 million dollars.
Sections of the Administration Block were destroyed by fire of unknown origin.
In the meantime, students were still able to sit external examinations today, despite the incident.
This was possible as the exam papers were not stored in that block overnight and as such were not affected by the fire.
