Jamaica has recorded 45 confirmed deaths following Hurricane Melissa, which struck the island on October 28.
This was revealed by Information Minister Dr. Dana Morris Dixon at a special press briefing now underway.
She noted that the fatalities have been verified by the police, as directly linked to the hurricane.
To date, 33 post-mortem examinations have been completed.
