Former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle, 55, and six others, including his wife Cristina and two children, Emma and Ryder, died when their Cessna C550 crashed while landing at Statesville Regional Airport, North Carolina, on December 14.
The aircraft, owned by a private company associated with Biffle, was engulfed in flames on impact.
Biffle won 19 NASCAR races and championships in both the Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series.
The National Transportation Safety Board is leading the investigation, and Statesville Airport remains closed while debris is cleared.
