The government has welcomed the United States Department of State’s decision to revise its travel advisory for Jamaica to level two.
The level two alert which urges Americans in Jamaica to exercise increased caution is an upgrade from the previous level 3 designation.
The Office of the Prime Minister said the upgrade is an acknowledgement of the government’s strides in improving public safety and ensuring a secure environment for both residents and visitors.
Prime Minister Dr. Andrew Holness lauded the development, noting that this revision reflects the hard work of the security forces and government agencies.
He added that the authorities have been deliberate and data-driven in the approach to reducing crime and improving the safety of Jamaicans.
