The Government is set to officially launch the National Cleanup Campaign later this week, a large-scale, coordinated effort, aimed at revitalizing communities across Jamaica in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.
Speaking at a special press briefing on Monday at Jamaica House, Minister of Local Government Desmond McKenzie announced that the campaign will be spearheaded by the National Solid Waste Management Authority NSWMA.
The initiative will receive additional support from the National Works Agency NWA, the Tourism Product Development Company TPDCo, the Ministry of Education, and the Social Development Commission SDC.
