Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart to be laid to rest tomorrow

The funeral for Jamaican hotel mogul Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart will be held
tomorrow.
The private ceremony will be attended by members of his family only, after which
he will be laid to rest at his Rio Chico property in Ocho Rios, St Ann.
Stewart is the founder and chairman of the ATL Group of Companies, which
includes the world-renowned Sandals and Beaches resorts, as well as the Jamaica
Observer.
On Wednesday, his son Adam Stewart, shared the news on social media, he said
“My dad grew up on the beach in Ocho Rios and had a love for his country Jamaica that was unbreakable. My dad loved to fly over our resorts to see them from above, always looking at what next he could do to improve his masterpieces”.
A viewing ceremony for late Jamaican businessman Gordon ‘Butch’ Stewart was
done at the Stella Maris Catholic Church in St Andrew earlier today, attended by
family and friends, government officials, business leaders and senior staff of the
Appliance Traders Limited Group, of which Stewart was chairman.
He passed on Monday night in the United States, he was 79 years old.
