Actor Chris Evans is crowned this year’s Sexiest Man Alive by People Magazine.
This was made public on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night and the magazine’s website”
Evans, who for nearly a decade played Captain America in Marvel’s superhero films, Steve Rogers, takes the baton from fellow Avenger actor, Paul Rudd.
Evans, who is 41 and single, said the title “feels like a weird form of humble bragging.” However, he was eager to share the news with his biggest fan – his mom.
“My mom will be so happy,” Evans told People in the People Magazine interview. “She’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about.”
Additional past honourees include John Legend and Adam Levine, Dwayne Johnson, Idris Elba, Richard Gere and Channing Tatum.
