The Meteorological Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas of St. Ann, St. Mary, Portland and St. Catherine, effective until 5:00 p.m. today.
This as it says a persistent Trough has been affecting weather conditions across Jamaica.
Satellite imagery has shown a reduction in rainfall over the past 12 hours, however forecast models continue to predict more rainfall.
The forecast is for periods of showers and isolated thunderstorms to affect mainly north-central and eastern parishes today.
Flash flooding is expected to occur across the aforementioned areas due to the level of soil saturation already experienced in these parishes.
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING means flooding has been reported or will occur shortly.
