Five people are dead following a mass shooting in Linstead, St Catherine late Sunday night.
Reports indicate that at least eight people were shot, with five persons succumbing to wounds.
It is understood that a 4-year-old child was among those killed in the incident, which took place sometime after 10pm in the community of Commodore.
Police have not released an official statement on the incident.
Minister of National Security and Peace, Dr. Horace Chang has strongly condemned the shooting incident in the Commodore community, in Linstead, St. Catherine, last evening, describing the incident as brutal and senseless.
Chang noted that the deliberate disregard for human life, especially the life of an innocent child, strikes at the very core of the nation’s humanity.
