FIRST FEMALE HEAD OF THE JDF TAKES UP OFFICE IN JANUARY

The Jamaica Defence Force JDF will have it’s first woman Chief of Defence Staff.

Commodore Antonette Wemyss Gorman is slated to be promoted to the rank of rear admiral when she takes up the position in January.

This, after the retirement of Lieutenant General Rocky Meade was approved by the Defence board yesterday (Wed).

General Meade served the Jamaica Defence force for thirty-eight 38 years.

He was appointed Chief of Defence Staff on December 1, 2016.
