Financial analyst Dennis Chung says he does not believe Dr. Nigel Clarke’s departure from the finance ministry will disrupt Jamaica’s Economic Policy Management.
Dr. Clarke is set to be appointed Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, IMF in October.
News of the appointment has been met with concern from some stakeholders, who are worried about the future of Jamaica’s economy.
But Mr. Chung said economic policies should not be affected upon Dr. Clarke’s departure, as the finance minister is not solely responsible for the country’s economic policy management.
He said a proper fiscal policy is in place, therefore, the government should be able to build on this.
