The Finance Minister has sought to assure the public that there is no cut in the expenditure for education in the third supplementary estimates of the budget.
Rather, Dr. Nigel Clarke says $1.8b has been transferred from the Ministry of Education to the Ministry of Technology to procure laptops for PATH students.
The Finance Minister explains that the Education Ministry engaged the Ministry of Technology to purchase the laptops under practical a arrangement, as the Technology Ministry has the experience and relationships with suppliers to undertake the activity at such short notice.
He reiterates that to implement this plan, the education ministry is transferring approximately $1.8b to the technology ministry.
