The government is proposing to spend a total of 1.3 trillion dollars for the fiscal year 2025/2026.
Finance Minister, Fayval Williams made the disclosure, as she tabled the Estimates of Expenditure in the House of Representatives this afternoon.
Mrs. Williams noted that the 1.3 trillion dollar budget, is indicative of Jamaica’s resilience and the sound policies of the Andrew Holness-led administration, since it attained power in 2016.
She said the budget remains firmly in the trillion-dollar range despite several challenges, including weather events such as a drought, Hurricane Beryl and Tropical Storm Rafael.
Details of the budget will be presented in Parliament on Tuesday, March 11.
