Acting President of the Egg Farmers Association, Mark Campbell is advising Jamaicans to brace for further increases in the cost of eggs.
This, as the cost of animal feed continues to increase – the latest increase happening just a week ago.
Mr. Campbell noted that feed accounts for approximately 70% of the cost of producing eggs, and as such, any increase in feed cost, significantly impacts egg farmers.
Mr. Campbell added that there have also been increases in other factors of production.
