Evening Weather Update: Sunday, December 5 2021


There’s  a weak High Pressure Ridge across the northern Caribbean.

Additionally, a Low-Level Jet Stream is across the central Caribbean.
A Low-Level Jet Stream is a narrow band of fast flowing wind in the lower levels of the atmosphere.
The Met Service says the Ridge is to remain across the region over the next few days. Expect windy conditions especially along the south coast due to the presence of the Low-Level Jet Stream.

A Small Craft Warning remains in effect for offshore areas of the south coasts due to strong winds and rough seas.

Tonight, continues to be Fair.
Tomorrow morning will be partly cloudy across sections of eastern parishes, mainly sunny elsewhere.
In the afternoon expect partly cloudy with isolated showers across sections of western parishes and hilly areas. Windy along the south coast.
Minimum temperature expected for Kingston and Montego Bay tonight is 24 degrees.
