Elaine Thompson- Herah named NACAC Athlete of the Year

Five time Olympic Champion, Elaine Thompson-Herah has been named one of The North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletics Association (NACAC) Athletes of the Year.

The 29- year- old double double Olympic champion won two individual gold medals at the 32nd Olympiad in Tokyo, Japan, clocking a record time of 10. 61 seconds in the 100 m to secure the win, and a national record time of 21.53 seconds in the 200m. She then won her third gold medal at the Olympic Games when Jamaica won the 4x100m relay.

Thompson-Herah then turned her attention to the Wanda Diamond League circuit, competing in Eugene, Oregon, where she won the women’s 100m in 10. 54 seconds.

She then followed up that achievement by claiming her seventh Diamond in Zürich, Switzerland, winning the 100m final in 10. 65 seconds.
