The Education Ministry says the National Summer School Program will begin online as scheduled today (July 5), while the face-to-face component will begin tomorrow (July 6).
The Ministry explains that starting the face-to-face component on Tuesday will allow administrators time to ensure that schools are in a proper state to accommodate students, given the heavy rains associated with Tropical Storm Elsa that affected the island at the weekend.
The Summer School Program is part of the Government’s three-part plan to help children recover from learning loss, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, regarding CXC Examinations, the Ministry is advising parents and students who are sitting the examinations and who may be facing hardships because of the weather conditions, to refer to the Overseas Examinations Commission’s guidelines.
