DRIVER OF RANGE ROVER WHO FLED THE SCENE AFTER MANCHESTER CRASH NOW IN CUSTODY

The driver of the Range Rover that crashed into a Honda fit killing a young school boy and injuring the boy’s mother, a police constable, is now in custody.

The incident occurred along the Sedburgh Main Road, in Manchester, at about 7:30 am, when the cop was taking her son to school.

Dead is 9-year-old Traevon Saunchez, a grade 6 student of the Christiana Leased Primary and Infant school.

Its reported that the driver of the Range Rover, overtook a line of traffic and his vehicle hit the Honda Fit, which was being driven in the opposite direction.

The Range Rover driver then fled the scene, and the Manchester police made an appeal for him to surrender.

It’s reported that the 31 year old driver turned himself over to the police yesterday evening, accompanied by his lawyer.

Meanwhile..........The police constable injured in a motor vehicle crash in Manchester yesterday remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The police federation has renewed its appeal for blood donation, while expressing appreciation to persons who have already donated.

The policewoman sustained injuries in the crash, after the Honda Fit motor car she was driving was hit by a range rover.

Her son, 9-year-old Traevon Saunchez, did not survive.
