American super producer Dr. Dre is facing a 10-million-dollar lawsuit filed by a marriage counsellor who helped mediate his relationship with his ex-wife, Nicole Young.
The counsellor, Dr. Charles J. Sophy, claims that Dr. Dre (aka Andre Young) engaged in a malicious campaign of harassment after he counselled the former couple. He further alleges that Dre’s frustration during mediation led to a year of late-night texts, intimidation, violence, and homophobic rhetoric and is now seeking $10 million in damages as well as a restraining order.
Dr. Dre fired back through his legal representative, Howard King, claiming that Sophy’s reaction was due to Dr. Dre’s complaint to the California Osteopathic Medical Board about Sophy’s behaviour during their therapy sessions.
The Aftermath Entertainment CEO said that the therapist was fired after he allegedly pressured one of their children to side against Dr. Dre.
